M588 Grainos APC
The M977 and M588 are made by a fictional company named Geryon Military Dynamics Group (GMDG). Based on the same technological system and cross-platform components, the M588 and M977 are at the forefront in military technology.
Or atleast, thats how I'd like it to go :). The M977 (next page), and M588 are two AFV's I've developed for use in Mortal Skin, an excellent project started by colleagues of mine a few years back, which may mature into an animated series.
M588 Grainos APC.
The M588 was developed to provide close support and transport of feild units to and from a live battlefeild in saftey and with speed and high manouverability. The M588 features 4 indpendantly driven wheel-house units, identical to those found on the M977 B. Slight modifications to the wheel-house chassis and suspension has allowed a high-tourque servo system to give the wheels 15 degrees of rotation, to allow the M588 even greater manouverability at speed.
Advanced 4wheel steering computer maintains desired attitude during cornering and traversing landforms. Use of the latest Chobham-Beta and tritanium alloys insures occupant saftey, as well as engine, Li-Poly battery bank and Hyper-Capcitor placement. Easily able to transport 10 armored infantry, or as in the case of the M588-B, civilian use, 8 Riot gear police with sheilds, it also can double as a paddy wagon, with many facilities to lock prisoners down.A mini command center (COMCEN) is located in the rear section, which links to any B4TF battle Tactical helmets in use, B4TF helmets are similar to the TA4F Tactical helmet, in that they display various information as well as provide a video feedback link to the COMCEN on board of any APC or AFV in the area that requests it.
The M588 features two dual-mode side-doors, the smaller aft door slides open to allow quick and descrete ingress and egress, while the main door, swings open to the front, providing cover, and allowing a faster deployment of infantry to the battle locale.
Designed for high frontal damage, the M588 is especially equipped with redundant BattleVision interfaces on either side.
Additionally lighting is handled by two low-slung led clusters, or pop-up flood lights located in the front area on the top of the vehicle. Lastly, the M588 is equipped with a single 7.62 Remote Cannon, for anti-infantry and area control.
